The pair were both involved in the Glovers defeat at Crawley Town on January 2nd in what would have been their last game for the club.
However, manager Darren Way has opted to extend the midfielders’ time at Huish Park having become integral parts of the squad.
Butcher, who has featured in both midfield and defence for Town, has made 23 appearances for Yeovil scoring once, while Whitfield – who joined at the end of August – has played on 22 occasions scoring twice.
Having secured their services, Way said: “They’ve played a massive role in our season so far and I’ve been very impressed with some of their outstanding performances.
“Both of them have shown unbelievable desire and enthusiasm to make this football club successful.
“Bournemouth are very happy and impressed with their development for such young players and we look forward to continuing our relationship with another Premier League club.”
Butcher and Whitfield could be involved in Town’s next match against Reading Under-23s in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday, January 10th (7pm kick-off).
