14th March 2014
A minutes applause will be held prior to tomorrow’s Sky Bet Championship clash against QPR in memory of Alec Stock.
The former R’s and Glovers boss, sadly passed away in 2001, at the age of 84.
Stock, came to prominence as the player/manager of Town during a historic FA Cup run in 1949 where he led the club to victories over Bury and Sunderland, before losing to Manchester United in the fifth round.
Stock’s family, led by his daughter Sarah, will be joined pitchside by former Ranger’s players Roger and Ian Morgan, Tony Hazell, Frank Sibley and Mark Lazarus.
QPR’s matchday programme ‘Hoops’ will also pay a glowing tribute to the man who touched so many hearts during his time in charge of Yeovil and Rangers.
You can pre-order your special-edition, 100-page matchday programme now!
Inside will be a selection of one-off features looking back on Stock’s time with both QPR and the Glovers.
