Members of the Away Travel Club have presented Yeovil Town favourite Gavin Williams with a ‘thank-you’ gift in recognition of his services to the Glovers.
Williams was released by Yeovil at the end of last season having made 188 appearances and scored 34 goals for the Glovers over four spells at the club.
Despite thanking fans on social networking sites such as Facebook for their messages of good luck for the future, Williams has been disappointed that he has not had an opportunity to do it in person.
It was something that Mark Kelly, of the Away Travel Club, had thought of from a fans’ point of view that supporters had not been able to thank Williams personally.
So the Away Travel Club thought it appropriate to present him with a gift of a decanter and two glasses engraved with the words ‘thanks for the memories.’
Mark said: “Gav has been a great player for Yeovil over the past ten years and it’s only right I think that we should give him something as a token of our appreciation.”
Williams said: “I’d really like to thank all the fans – it has been a brilliant time and Yeovil has become a second home for me."
