The young Glovers, who suffered defeat last time out against Oxford United, were due to play the Gloucestershire outfit 11 days previous but the match had to be rearranged due to a waterlogged pitch.

Joe Tomlinson and Jack Hilton-Jones both netted in each half with Rovers only securing a consolation late on.

Antonio Falanga’s side dominated proceedings at Huish Park and took an early lead through midfielder Hilton-Jones.

The 18-year-old received the ball from Charlie Fripp before firing an unstoppable shot in from 25 yards with his weaker foot.

Tomlinson soon added a second from the penalty spot and Hilton-Jones finished off an excellent passage of play for Yeovil’s third after the interval.

Things got even better for the junior Green and Whites in the second period when Tomlinson collected Brad Cherrett’s superb crossfield pass to score his second and make it 4-0.

The hosts couldn’t keep a clean sheet with Forest Green notching 10 minutes from time.

Falanga’s Under-18s moved up to seventh in the table with the three points and face league leaders Exeter City on Saturday.
