Yeovil Town departed Victoria Road disappointed not to be leaving with three points, but pleased with the level of their performance, according to forward Rhys Murphy.

In a game that offered several opportunities for the Glovers with Murphy and Luke Wilkinson both hitting the woodwork, Darren Sarll’s side failed to find their cutting edge and composure in front of goal.

Despite being down to ten-men for large proportions of the second half after Wilkinson was dismissed by referee Daniel Middleton after a last man challenge on the on-running McQueen, Yeovil held on for their fourth draw of the National League season.

“I think on reflection, the performance warranted a lot more however, it’s easy to say that because you’ve got to back good performances up with good results, Murphy told BBC Somerset post-match.

“The fact that we’ve come away from home again and for half hour played with 10 men we’ve come off hugely disappointed not to take all three points so there’s many positives to take from this performance.

“We have to keep working, it was a tough one to take today as we wanted to win, and possible should have won the game but unfortunately, we didn’t take our chances.

“On the positive side the performance was strong again and we’ve created chances which is always a good thing, and, on another day, they probably go in.

“We’ve just got to keep working hard each week and eventually the luck will turn and hopefully the results will also turn in our favor.”
