20th December 2019

Yeovil Town travel to Lancashire to face AFC Fylde on Saturday (3pm) for the start of the festive fixtures.

After an unbeaten run of six games, Yeovil will be looking to close the gap on league leaders Barrow with a win at the Mill Farm Sports Complex.

The hosts have surprised many by scrapping it out at the lower end of the table this season. The current FA Trophy holders were a promotion favourite for many, but have not seen last season’s form replicated, instead they are sitting in 18th place.

Forward Danny Rowe will be seen as a danger man for Fylde. Despite not hitting the heights of his red-hot form last year, Rowe has hit six league goals this season, and netted last weekend in the FA Trophy against Curzon Ashton.

Head-to-head

Earlier this season, Yeovil Town beat AFC Fylde 3-2 in Somerset, thanks to goals from Rhys Murphy, Myles Hippolyte and a Jimmy Smith debut goal.

Before the clash at Huish Park earlier this season, the two sides had never met due to AFC Fylde’s recent surge through the non-league pyramid to reach the National League.

Officials

Elliott Swallow will be the man in the middle on Saturday afternoon. Last time out, Swallow took charge of Wrexham vs. Solihull Moors where the official was forced to show 11 yellow cards!

Swallow will be assisted by Alan Hull and Robert Wainwright with Oliver Nolan acting as the fourth official.
