Yeovil Town Football Club are delighted to be supporting their local Somerset Hospice, by “Wearing Yellow” (away strip) for St. Margaret’s, in our away match against Notts County on Saturday 17th October.

St Margaret’s Hospice, which cares for the whole of Somerset and has hospices in Yeovil and Taunton, launched their “Wear it Yellow” fundraising initiative in October. The Hospice is asking organisations and individuals to wear something yellow for a day of their choosing throughout October. In return, participants are asked to donate £1 to St Margaret’s by texting WITY01 £1 to 70070.

Head of Media, James Healey was quick to take up the challenge and suggested that the whole Yeovil team should get involved. The players which include, Captain Ryan Dickson, Matt Dolan, Goalkeeper Artur Krysiak and Ryan Bird, are all eager to join in to support the Hospice.

Dickson who began his career in Plymouth and has recently returned to the South West on a 2 year contract with Yeovil Town said “St Margaret’s is a Somerset charity close to many hearts. I am willing to bet that there are many fans out there who have had some experience of their care and compassion.”

Claire Hart, Corporate fundraiser at St Margaret’s said, “It’s fantastic to have our local football team involved in supporting our fundraising in this way. We care for people with any life-limiting illness- not just cancer, supporting families and carers as well as patients.

"We need to raise £7.5m from our community to deliver our care and last year we cared for 3,200 people. 1 in 3 people in Somerset will need our support in their lifetime, so “Wear it Yellow” is a fun way of raising money and awareness of the hospice. All money raised helps St. Margaret’s to continue to make each day count”
