Along with its charitable arm, Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust, in the run up to Christmas the Glovers are working with the Lord’s Larder to help provide basic foods and comforts to those in need this Christmas.

The Lord’s Larder Food Bank is a local ‘bank’ of non-perishable food operated by volunteers from churches in and around Yeovil.

The club will launch its campaign on Saturday 7 December when the Glovers take on FC Halifax Town. At that game and until 5.30pm on Saturday 14 December (the date the Glovers host Welling United in Buildbase FA Trophy) the club is asking fans to donate non-perishable items via a drop off point the club shop at Huish Park.

The project is being driven by one of the club’s new owners Errol Pope who is working closely with Club Padre Jim Pearce and Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust Manager Sara Bradley.

The club is also hoping to greatly magnify the impact of its project by having a unit in the Town Centre until 19 December which can be both as a centre point for donations and a hub to distribute items to homeless persons.

Commenting Mr Pope said;

We would like to sincerely and earnestly thank you all for your willing hearts to give to this cause and your very generous donations whether they are of time, help, goodies or monetary – because of your hearts to give, so many people will be impacted and touched, so many lives will be helped and saved – from the youngest to the eldest.

“There is a principle that underpins success – ‘Give and it shall come back to you – in good measure and running over’. We expect you to experience this in abundance. Thank you”

Anyone wishing to offer Town Centre premises for the project should contact the Club Chief Operating Officer, David Mills via 01935 847888 or via dmills@ytfc.net
