The Glovers travel northbound to face FC Halifax Town at The Shay on Tuesday night (7:45pm).
After defeat to Wrexham on Saturday, Darren Sarll will be desperate to put things right against The Shaymen after doing the double over Pete Wild’s side last season.
With the game being played behind closed doors, the match will be streamed on the Halifax Town website, with passes available for £9.99.
Darren Sarll’s thoughts
Speaking after the defeat to Wrexham, Darren Sarll spoke about his sides start to the National League season; “You go through periods in the season that you never know when they come, where it feels like the world is against you every decision and little things like that. I think we’re in that moment now.
“I feel it in the players when they come out, I feel an anxious energy because of how badly they want to get that first win under their belts.
“I’m seeing some performances from some individuals that are very conflicting from what we saw over the last twelve months, and because they’re such great lads with good character, that’s the only logical explanation for it.”
Injury news
After returning from injury on Saturday to face Wrexham, Albi Skendi will be hoping to remain in the fold on Tuesday evening.
Alex John remains a doubt following an injury he sustained in our final pre-season friendly against AFC Bournemouth.
A foot in the opposition camp
There are a number of familiar faces in the Halifax side, with Tom Bradbury and Gold Omotayo now lining up for The Shaymen after leaving the club at the end of last season.
Omotayo enjoyed two eventful outings against Halifax last time out, netting his only two goals for the club in the clash at The Shay, and then being sent off after nine minutes at Huish Park.
The man in the dugout for Halifax is Pete Wild, the former Oldham manager who led the club to victory over Fulham in the FA Cup has enjoyed a successful year at the helm in the National League, guiding his side to the play offs last time out.
