21st January 2016

Hi everyone! I have not written one of these in while but I hope you have seen on social media that I am still right behind the green and whites.

I finally managed to get down to Huish Park on Tuesday and I was very glad to be back home.

What a whirlwind match that was and I won’t lie – I was very gutted not to get through. In truth, we could and should have won the game easily – not least as we had a penalty in the 93rd minute.

But these things happen and we must take that brilliant performance on to Saturday.

Welcoming Crawley is far more important than welcoming Everton and although the cash and the occasion would have been nice, securing our league status is of paramount importance.

One thing that struck me on Tuesday was how much Darren Way has changed since he has taken over.

We looked very strong going forward and despite missing Darren Ward in defence, managed to keep Carlisle at bay for long periods.

Towards the end of normal time and extra time – we were the ones attacking and so often it has been the opposition pushing and us holding on.

I HATE penalty shoot-outs and Matty’s decisive spot-kick was very unlucky! It is such a lottery and unfortunately we couldn’t find that winning number.

But there is every reason to be optimistic and I hope the fans that came on Tuesday night will return – because with two red cards, two goals and penalty misses – it had it all!

That is one thing Yeovil Town are not – boring!

As for other football news – our fellow League Two side Leyton Orient have appointed Kevin Nolan as their player manager.

Now, I don’t know about you but I was pretty shocked by that! He is a proven leader on the pitch but only time will tell if he can cut it in the dugout.

With Orient so desperate for promotion back to the third tier I am surprised they have made such a risky appointment.

As for Luton, I think they have made an inspired choice for their new manager. Former Glovers player and assistant manager Nathan Jones has taken over the reigns and having done so well at Brighton – I know he will only bring them success.

I spotted Jonesy at the game on Tuesday and I am sure he will be well prepared on February 2nd. It will be my closest match of the season so I am very glad to be attending another cold Tuesday night match!

So, here’s to getting over FA Cup heartache and celebrating three crucial points on Saturday. Let’s get behind Darren and the boys and Achieve by Unity!
