The visitors had Scott Brown sent off after 22 minutes for a lunge on Francois Zoko, and Stanley boss John Coleman responded by making a defensive double substitution on the half-hour mark.

Town were on top for the most part of the contest but fell behind to Omar Beckles’ second-half header.

The Glovers battled hard to find a way back into the game and got the least they deserved when Zoko netted his 11th goal of the season 16 minutes from time to earn a share of the spoils.

However, Way rued what could have been a good win for the hosts.

“That’s League Two football – it happens,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“On the overall performance and the balance of play, we should have won and the supporters will be thinking exactly the same. 

“That’s the most play I’ve seen us have as the manager of the football club.

“They were off the back of scoring five goals and I think Artur (Krysiak) only touched the ball three or four times in the whole game.

“They were very compact and got men behind the ball. It was very difficult to break them down but I still feel we had enough chances and general play.”

He continued: “The lads kept going and showed unbelievable resilience, kept trying to switch the play and I don’t know how many crosses when into the box. On another day, it would have been four or five-nil. 

“We ask ourselves the same question and carry the same frustration we’ve had all season and that’s the pressure to score goals.

“That’s been the difference between us really pushing for the top six this year. It’s such a fine line but I’ve got to make sure I remain positive.

“We keep going – we’ve not lost any ground, we’re still in 17th and the players are still trying to give everything. They’ve got a really big derby coming up against Exeter so we’ll look forward to that.”
