The Glovers dominated proceedings in Lancashire but fell ill to a last-gasp equaliser from Romuald Boco.

Former Barnsley man Khan’s third league goal of the season had given Town the lead at the Crown Ground and believes it was a good point earned.

“The last-minute equaliser was a sucker punch,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“The lads worked hard throughout the game so we were gutted but not many teams in the league go to Accrington and control the game.

“It was a good performance and, although we should have won the game, it was a good result.

“We’ll take it as it is away from home and we’re now seven games unbeaten. We have to keep going.”

Leading up to the match, Khan pressed his desire to add more goals to his game and delivered with a beautifully placed free kick.

The wide man went directly to the Town supporters behind the goal to show his appreciation for their support.

“I celebrated with the fans straight away,” he said.

“I know it’s a long way to come as I live round the corner and it’s not particular a nice journey so I’m glad I could celebrate that moment them.”

On his free kick, Khan added: “It was my side so I wasn’t going to let anyone take it off me!

“I decided to go the other way this time because I thought it was a bit close so I went to the keeper’s side and I’m happy it went in.”

Town can climb into the Sky Bet League Two play-offs with victory over Crawley Town this Saturday (3pm).
