After Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at table-topping Leicester manager Gary Johnson believes those associated with Yeovil Town should feel nothing but pride.

Despite the Foxes 17-match unbeaten record before the game the Glovers lead from the 22nd minute thanks to Joe Ralls’ free-kick, and only a Kasper Schmeichel equaliser in second half stoppage time could salvage a point for the league leaders.

After extending the Glovers’ unbeaten run to three matches Johnson was delighted with his side’s efforts against Premiership-bound Leicester despite the late equaliser.

“It was very, very cruel because we didn’t park the bus, we said we wouldn’t, we said we’d get the ball up to our forwards and Ishmael Miller had a great chance to make it 2-0 and they are the ones that at this level you’ve got to go 2-0 up when you’re at Leicester.

“But we should have nothing but pride for our club and our football team because we saw their technical area jumping up and down and they’re drawing with Yeovil at home and with our reputation now it has gone ahead of us and I was so proud of what the boys did. They were throwing themselves in front of everything and we know they’ve got Premier League players or Premier League money and a Premier League crowd and are a Premier League club and they’re one or two games away now from being there and that’s what happens.

“There they were partying because they drew with us but that’s good when that happens because you want to get a reputation and make sure you do everything you can to keep it and Yeovil are creating this reputation for ourselves. Now what we’ve got to do is not let that destroy us when we’ve drawn at Leicester because of that late goal and we’ve got some cup finals to come now.”

The Glovers now face three teams embroiled in the relegation battle, and the Yeovil boss is keen to build on recent performances.

“We’ve had some hard games with Bolton who were top of the form table, Wigan and Leicester and we’ve come out of that with three points which is as good as one win out of the three. Now we’ve got to make sure that with the Barnsley’s and the Blackpool’s and the Charlton’s that we show what we’ve learnt in the last few months.”
