The Glovers saw off Newport County 1-0 at Huish Park last weekend to confirm back-to-back wins and make it three straight home victories, propelling Town to within three points of the play-offs.
With Yeovil visiting eighth-placed Crewe Alexandra this weekend, Way is not getting carried away with his side’s run of form.
“We talked about momentum last week and how we’ve got targets we want to hit and we’re on course, certainly after the home games we’ve had.
“But we’ve talked about complacency now, it’s important the group stay strong. We talked about being patient with the players because we’ve got a young group which is growing stronger together every day.”
Only Doncaster Rovers, Carlisle United and Plymouth Argyle have picked up more points than Yeovil in the last six games, but Way is cautious of losing sight of the targets set by the squad ahead of the season.
“It’s important we don’t become complacent, we don’t think we’re going to win the league because of the last two results but we’ve got a group of players with group targets and we’re reaching them.
“We showed them the table – it’s up on the wall actually – from last year and we were in the bottom two and I don’t think we got a result for nine games now.
“So what I’ve tried to do is build momentum and I’ll be disappointed if we go on a run of nine defeats now that’s for sure.”
