The Glovers have had a good start to the season finding themselves in eighth position, with a game in hand on most teams above them and unbeaten in the league since the opening day.

The 34-year old moved back down to the south west after a six season spell with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and faces his former employers Newport County on Saturday.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, Warren is enjoying his move to Somerset and highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards.

“It’s been a breath of fresh air coming down here, I love how the standards are so high, the standards the gaffer sets and what the rest of the lads set.

“That shows in our performances because as soon as you step off or come off of those standards, then your performances start to dip.

“We’re aiming to achieve the best we can this year and to be as successful as we can and to do that we have to keep maintaining the high standards day in, day out.”

This Saturday will be Town’s first fixture for ten days after last weekends home clash with the MK Donss was postponed due to international call ups.

Not taking any time to step back from football despite the time in between matchdays, Warren believes their momentum will still carry over.

“It’s not really a break I wouldn’t call it that, it’s a chance to recharge the batteries but you never really switch off you’re always thinking about the next game and the next training session.

“It’s a good chance to relax, but for me it’s always about concentrating on the next game and how you can overcome the next team against you.”

The next game for the Glovers is an away trip to Newport County a side at which the centre-back spent three seasons with.

With it being the first time Warren has come up against a former employer, he is relishing the chance to play on Saturday.

“It’s the first game I looked for when the fixtures came out, to go back as a player will be nice and there’s a few friends and a couple of players that are still there from when I was.

“It will be good to see them again and lock horns with them but for us it’s about going there and coming back here with the three points.

“They’re a direct side, they like to get the balls into the box so it’s up to us to stand up to that challenge. We’re going to have to make sure that we’re all strong and resolute and then clinical with our chances at the other end.”
