The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week, the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award should go to Yeovil Town following their excellent 1-0 away win against Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship on 3 August 2013.
Yeovil manager Gary Johnson will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award.
Yeovil won the first F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award of the season in what was their first game in the second tier of English football in the club’s history.
Edward Upson was the match winner as he scored a late winner to hand the Championship newcomers all three points at The Den.
After the match, Johnson was delighted with the performance and result;
"We are used to people telling us we are going to get relegated and with our budget we really should be, but we use it as a strength.
"Anything we do is a bonus. But we have a group of lads who know how to put in a shift and work for each other. They will all improve as they are a young lot.
"I think we deserved that win. I thought we played the best side in the first half without having any real chances."
