12th January 2018

The Glovers will have fond memories of their visit to Stoke-on-Trent in December, as Jordan Green’s stoppage-time equaliser earned Town an Emirates FA Cup replay – which they went on to win.

Subsequently, the Green & Whites faced League One Bradford City last weekend in the third round, recording a 2-0 win to tee up a mouthwatering fourth round meeting with Premier League giants Manchester United.

Following Monday’s memorable draw, Yeovil progressed in their second cup competition of the week on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win over Forest Green Rovers to book a spot in the Checkatrade Trophy last eight.

Returning to Sky Bet League Two action, Darren Way has no fresh injury concerns and will welcome back loanee Lewis Wing who missed Tuesday’s match due to being cup tied.

New arrivals Marcus Barnes, Wing, Jared Bird and Corey Whelan will all be in line for their first league appearances.

Saturday’s opponents the Valiants will be looking to get back to winning ways after suffering consecutive defeats on the road.

However, last time out at Vale Park Neil Aspin’s side dispatched league leaders Luton Town 4-0, with former Glovers loanee Ben Whitfield on the scoresheet.

Head-to-head
Saturday will be the 12th meeting between the two clubs with both teams enjoying four wins each.

An Otis Khan double and Francois Zoko winner saw Town see off Vale just a month ago in the Emirates FA Cup second round replay at Huish Park.

In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Khan was on target again to earn a point at Huish Park.

Officials
David Webb (County Durham) will take charge of the league meeting.

His 27th game of the season, it will be his second involving Yeovil after overseeing the 4-3 defeat at Forest Green Rovers in August.

Mr. Webb will be assisted by Ian Dudley (Nottinghamshire) and Andrew Hendley (West Midlands) with Alan Clayton (Cheshire) acting as fourth official.
