The Glovers progressed to the next round of the Somerset Premier Cup with a 13-0 victory over Hengrove Athletic.

Town opened the scoring after eight minutes when James Berrett curled the ball over the wall and into the Hengrove net from 25-yards out.

Just after the half hour mark the Glovers doubled their advantage after Brendan Moloney’s run was ended when he was fouled in the area. Captain for the evening James Hayter made no mistake in converting the resulting penalty past the Liam Macfarlane in the Hengrove goal.

At half time Town made two substitutes with Kevin Dawson and goalscorer Berrett replaced by Sam Foley and Liam Davis.

Five minutes into the second period, substitute Foley increased Town’s lead with a neat chip over the keeper.

Moments later Ajay Leicth-Smith made it 4-0 when he controlled and thundered the ball past Macfarlane.

Two goals followed in quick succession on the hour mark. First of all Hayter got his second when he fired towards goal from inside the area and just seconds later it was 6-0 when Simon Gillett’s effort took a slight deflection on it’s way towards goal.

With 25 minutes to go Town made it 7-0 after Foley laid the ball to Twumasi, who slotted home from just inside the area.

Substitute Jordy Hiwula soon got himself on the score sheet to make it 8-0. The Manchester City loanee cut in from the left wing to fire a shot across the keeper and into the net.

Hayter secured his hat-trick on 72 minutes when he controlled the ball, turned and fired a unstoppable shot into the top corner of the Hengrove net.

Twumasi got his second of the match to make the score 10-0 when he headed home a Nathan Smith cross.

Hiwula then added another when he tapped home from close range before Liam Davis made it 12-0 with over ten minutes remaining.

Hiwula secured his hat trick with seven minutes remaining when he pounced on a clearance to race clear and slot home.
