Town hosted the Championship outfit live on Sky Sports at Huish Park and were unfortunate to come away on the losing side.

Darren Way’s men had a goal controversially ruled out in the first-half before the hosts missed a penalty after the break, prior to a late Villans winner.

More than matching their higher division opponents, summer signing D’Almeida is looking to maintain the performance level when the green and whites head to Meadow Lane.

“I think we did very well on Tuesday,” he told iFollow Glovers. “Everybody’s mindset was ready and I’m very happy with the performance of the team, so we take this from Tuesday into the Notts County game and try to have a good win.

“It was good to play against Villa and a good experience. If we can perform like that against them, we can take that performance into our own league.

“If we use that same mindset, we can use it going forward not just on Friday but for the rest of the season.”

The Benin international has become an instant hit in Somerset after arriving from Blackpool.

Named man of the match in his first two home outings, the 22-year-old is enjoying life as a Glovers.

He said: “I’m so happy and proud to be here in this stadium and to be part of this team, that’s why I give everything and maybe why I got the two man of the match awards – i’m just so happy to be here.

“I feel like I’m at home. I’m happy so I give everything 100% for the team and for the supporters.”

Town fans can support Sessi and the rest of the team at Notts County on Friday. Ticket and travel details can be found on our away tickets page.
