The 0-0 draw at the Abbey Stadium halted a run of four straight defeats in Sky Bet League Two as the green and whites prepare for five matches in two weeks over Christmas.

In freezing conditions coupled with driving wind and rain, Darren Way’s side picked up a point in Cambridgeshire to halt their disappointing run of form before they host Northampton Town on Saturday.

Completing the full 90 minutes, Santos felt there were positives to take from the draw.

“Away from home it’s always tough,” he told iFollow Glovers. “The conditions made it difficult but the boys stuck to it. We needed to not lose and that’s what we managed.

“In conditions like that you have to just fight until the end and we did that. We take the positives and head into the next week.

“Away from home you’ll always take a point and now we have to win our home games, but there are positives to take now into Saturday.”

The Brazilian midfielder featured in the starting eleven for the second time in succession at the weekend.

Having to be patient for his chance in the side, the 23-year-old is focused on continuing to perform for the team.

“I’ve been working hard on the training ground and doing extras to try and get in the team.

“It’s been Sessi (D’Almeida) and Patto (Alex Pattison) in the team so when you get an opportunity you’ve got to make the most of it.

“I’ve been in for the last two games and think I’ve done well so I’ve got to keep pushing on and get the team over the line and we’ll do that together as a team.”
