In a dominant display from the hosts, they finally broke the deadlock through Alex Fisher in the 24th minute firing in from Alex Pattison’s lay-off after a fantastic gut-busting run from the Middlesbrough loanee.

Returning from an injury scare in midweek D’Almeida sealed the win just before half-time with his first goal in green and white.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, the 22-year-old revealed the confidence shared between himself and Way.

“I’m very happy to be starting every game, the gaffer has this confidence in me and I have confidence in him.

“I trust him like I trust my mother so I’m very happy to start every game and like you see, I never give up on the pitch.

“I never let him down, I never let the team down and I never let the fans down, I give everything that’s why.”

Joining in the summer after being released from Blackpool, D’Almeida has established himself as a fan favourite early on in his Yeovil career.

Feeling the love already from the home support, he is relishing his time in Somerset.

“It’s a good connection with the fans I’m so happy to earn the fans’ praises, I’m happy and proud of the town.

“I’m proud of the club also, you can sense it on the pitch, for all of us it’s about teamwork and everything’s about the team.

“I never ever give up, it’s my number one policy so I try to always fight, that’s my work, to run, to tackle and be part of this game that’s it.”

Sealing the victory on a sunny summer afternoon at Huish Park, Town move up to seventh on eight points and unbeaten since the opening weekend, with the Benin international knowing the value of victory.

“It’s a massive three points. We’re so proud of what we’re achieving and it was a good performance, we just have to keep going.

“It’s a wonderful feeling to score, it’s the best one I’ve had, I think it’s a good goal I tried to be focussed on the technique.”
