The Glovers head to Adams Park looking to build on Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with high-flyers Notts County.

However, away form has been Town’s achilles heel this season with just four points picked up on the road in Sky Bet League Two.

A dramatic 3-2 win over Chesterfield back in September remains the only victory away from home, although previous results in Buckinghamshire lead Way to feel buoyant.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “I’ve been to Wycombe myself with the team for two seasons now and have come back with two draws with both games being end-to-end.

“(Gareth Ainsworth) managed to sign Bayo (Akinfenwa) and (Craig) Mackail-Smith; they’ve got (Paris) Cowan-Hall and have got two good centre-halves who attack the ball well.

“They’ve got strong competition all over the pitch. We make sure, certainly with our frontline, that we score goals. What we have got to do is make sure we’re solid, compact and that we don’t concede.”

With several members of Town’s squad experiencing their first run of games in League Two, Way feels his side are learning.

“We’ve got to make sure we identify the problems with our away form,” he said.

“There have been tight games where it’s been disappointing to concede but the group that we’ve got and the experience that they’re gaining is enabling them to understand what it takes to win a league two game.

“They’re gaining valuable experience and with that, performances are getting better.”
