20th March 2018

Defender Bevis Mugabi has joined up for the first time with the Uganda national team for their friendlies against São Tomé and Príncipe on the 24th March and Malawi on the 27th March.

The 22-year-old has made 22 appearances for the Glovers this season and could make his international debut for the Cranes having come to the attention of head coach Sebastien Desabre since arriving in Somerset last summer.

Elsewhere, the defensive duo of Corey Whelan and Shaun Donnellan have joined up with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their two upcoming matches.

Both with five caps to their name, the pair will be part of the Eire side to take on their Iceland counterparts in a friendly before lining up against Azerbaijan in a UEFA U21 European Championship qualifier at the Tallaght Stadium in Dublin.

Completing Town’s international absentees, Rhys Browne has linked up with the Antigua & Barbuda national side for their friendlies against Bermuda (21st March) and Jamaica (25th March) where the winger will look to build on his six previous appearances.

Remaining with Darren Way’s first-team but on international stand-by is versatile defender Tom James, who could be called-up to the Wales Under-21 squad if required.

As a result of Yeovil’s absentees, Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two trip to Accrington Stanley has been postponed with the fixture rearranged for Tuesday April 17th (7.45pm).
