The Glovers have lost just once at home in all competitions, and welcome the Shrimpers to Somerset in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Town ran out 3-0 victors against Stevenage a week ago on home soil, with Way looking for a repeat both on the pitch and in the stands.

“(The fans) were magnificent on Saturday,” he told iFollow Glovers.

“I’ve not heard supporters sing players’ names for a while and the players deserved the credit.

“For supporters to sing players’ names now it takes 1) a really good performance, and 2) a lot of effort and energy because that’s what they want to see.

“As long as we do that I’m sure they’ll get behind us and like me, they’ve have had some magical moments as underdogs – we come into this as underdogs –  so we have to give every bit of energy we can to get through to next round.”

Although a division below, Yeovil’s manager is still labelling the cup clash a ‘must win game’, despite strikers Francois Zoko and Olufela Olomola missing out through suspension.

“I don’t think Southend would want to come down to Yeovil, so it’s going to be an interesting game.

“It’s a must win game. We’ve got to get through to the next round so both teams will be attacking I’m sure.

“We’ve built a good squad. I’m 100% sure that whoever takes their place (Zoko and Olomola) they’ll put in a good performance. It’s an opportunity.

“We have got to make sure our game is like it was on Saturday – very effective going forward – and cause them problems.”
