The Glovers drew 1-1 with Port Vale in the Emirates FA Cup last weekend, a result sandwiched between two Checkatrade Trophy victories over higher league opposition in Plymouth Argyle and AFC Wimbledon respectively.

Looking to now get back to winning ways in Sky Bet League Two, Way is looking to extend the positivity.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “We look at our recent football matches – we drew at Port Vale and beat Plymouth and Wimbledon.

“So far our home form has been good so there are a lot of positives to take.

“We have to be realistic, we know as far as our away form is concerned that it has to become better in terms of results, but to still be in two cup competitions is good.

“Supporters are seeing probably the best home form for the last four years, especially with the amount of goals we’re scoring which is important at home. We have got to continue that.”

The Green and Whites are currently six games into a gruelling eight-week fixture schedule.

With the on-field demands increasing, the Town boss is calling for his players to be ready.

“Everything is looking good,” he said. “As far as the medical department is concerned they’re doing very well considering we’ve had small numbers.

“We have 16 matches in eight weeks which is a big load. The players need to make sure they’re physically and mentally ready.”
