2nd August 2017

The Glovers host the Dorset outfit in their final pre-season fixture, before the Sky Bet League Two campaign begins with a trip to Luton Town on Saturday.

For the Cherries, the short trip to Somerset represents their fifth match in preparation for the 2017/18 Premier League campaign, having most recently played Valencia at the Vitality Stadium.

Finishing ninth in the top flight last season and with manager Eddie Howe one of the best British managers in tenure, Town boss Way is relishing the challenge of Wednesday night’s fixture.

Speaking to YTFC.net, he said: “It’s going to be a fantastic occasion at Huish Park for the team to test themselves against a Premier League side, and for the fans to see what should be a very entertaining match.

“We’ve had a great relationship with Bournemouth over the years and for me personally, it will be a pleasure to go toe-to-toe with arguably the best British manager in the game at the moment, Eddie Howe.”

A full match preview containing team news and more can be found here, with Bournemouth sending a first-team squad to Huish Park which is likely to include summer signings Nathan Ake, Jermain Defoe and Connor Mahoney.

With over 2,200 tickets already sold for the clash, Way is urging his side to embrace the occasion.

“Playing against a Premier League side doesn’t happen every week, so it’s important we all make the most of the experience.

“Going into the season, it’s the perfect match to get that sense of occasion – hopefully, we’ll see a big turnout from our supporters for the final time before we head to Luton.”

Tickets are available to purchase on the night but fans are urged to buy in advance to avoid matchday queues. The Huish Park ticket office can be contacted via 01935 847888 or in person, with tickets also available online.
