Having dispatched both Grimsby Town and Cambridge United in Sky Bet League Two last week, manager Darren Way is hoping recent league form correlates into the cup.

Just two rounds from a Wembley final, Town are yet to lose in this season’s competition.

Hosting the Cod Army, Way is looking for another positive occasion on home soil.

“It’s a great opportunity to get to Wembley and I’ll never turn that down as a manager.

“As a supporter, I don’t think you’d turn down the chance to have a day out at Wembley and it’s important for me and my players.

“I’m going to do everything I can to make sure it’s a success on Tuesday night,” he told iFollow Glovers.

Fresh from two wins, the Green & Whites have scored five goals without reply to pull seven points clear of the bottom two in the league.

Added in with a positive January transfer window, Town’s boss is hoping to build on recent momentum.

“Any manager, any supporter and any chairman is trying to gather momentum, he said. “I feel proud of what the players have done since the Manchester United match because you’re always judged after that on what direction we go in.

“We’re seeing out the last 10 minutes of games now and two clean sheets is important.

“It’s nice to see we can field seven on the bench and if you’re not performing you’re going to be left out of the squad.

I don’t like doing that but with the numbers we’ve got and the direction we’re going in, everyone has got to be at the top of their game.”
