The Glovers will host the Red Devils in the fourth round later this month, but will take to the field in Sky Bet League Two action twice before Jose Mourinho’s men head to Huish.

Starting with Saturday’s trip to Vale Park, Way is hoping for a performance showing no signs of distraction.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “I want to see the reaction from the last the week now it’s league football with three points to play for.

“That’s what I was really chuffed about on Tuesday. To go up against a Forest Green team knowing the emotions we all went through on the Monday night, to put in the performance we did was pleasing.

“We tired towards the end and one or two key decisions from players wasn’t really us but we were still stubborn and resilient.

“The process we’ve put in place doesn’t change, therefore, the players shouldn’t be distracted and know how important the game is.”

Heading to Stoke-on-Trent to take on the Valiants for the fourth time this season, Way knows what he’s looking to get from the trip.

The Town boss continued: “I want to do whatever it takes for the players to win.

“If it means they win it on their character, we win it on that. If we win it on our togetherness, on our skill, I don’t care how we win the game but I just want to win it.

“We know how difficult a place it is to go. It’s a big challenge – every game is a big challenge – but so far, one thing I know is the players like challenges and don’t give up.”
