The Glovers are unbeaten since the opening day of the season and haven’t conceded a goal in six matches, a record for the club since entering the EFL. 

After recording a resounding 6-0 win at Newport County last time out, the green and whites host Swindon Town at Huish Park on Saturday (3pm) with Way feeling optimistic. 

“I’ve always been positive with the way I’ve tried to manage the football club but now have I group of players that are ultra positive.

“They set their own targets, have taken ownership of certain areas of the dressing room and have got some very powerful individuals, so it’s nice to be able to allow them to drive the football club.

“I keep saying to the players that making mistakes doesn’t make them failures it just means they’re learning, and we’re at a stage now where we can compete and cause teams problems and that’s nice to stand there and watch.”

As Town prepare to host the Robins, a larger than usual crowd is anticipated for the West Country clash. 

After sharing the win at Rodney Parade with almost 450 traveling fans, Town’s boss is delighted with their support so far.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “For any supporter, winning is paramount because every club up and down county trying win football matches – it’s how you keep your job (as a manager).

“Even though we’ve been through some difficult times in recent years the majority of supporters you’d want to supporting you have stuck with us.

“It takes time to get back where you need to be, but it’s never too late to turnaround and get behind us and start following us.”
