Town’s boss completed the 18-month long award earlier in the month, a period which has coincided with his managerial duties.

The Pro Licence course includes a number of learning modules based at St.George’s Park covering leadership, management, communication and dealing with the media as well as a study visit to an international tournament.

The course was attended by many of the country’s leading coaches and gave Way the chance to share knowledge and discuss ideas with others in the game.

“I’ve completed my Pro License,” Way said.

“It was a huge commitment and a big achievement for me being manager and trying to complete all the tasks that were given under the pressure they put you under.

“I have to thank everyone at the FA because it’s a fantastic course and I feel it’s improved me as a human being and every area in management.

“There’s only 92 of us and there’s probably 2,000 out there who want to be managers. There’s not a lot of English managers out there so I have to make sure I stay ahead of the game and keep on improving as a manager and the football club which I feel we’ve done that.”

He added: “I’ve shared a valuable experience with others on the course who are sharing the same problems as I’ve got to deal with and who have had success like Neil Harris (Millwall) who got promoted, Gary Bowyer (Blackpool) who also got promoted.

“I was lucky to be on there with some important candidates, a lot of which have been involved in the Premier League.

“There aren’t many Pro License-qualified coaches out there – I think there’s only 300. They see it as a coaching course to manage in Premier League – not saying I’m going to be there tomorrow but you have to have a dream!”
