Goals from Yoann Arquin, Diallang Jaiyesimi, Olufela Olomola, Carl Dickinson and a Jordan Green brace sealed the biggest away win in the division since 2011.

The result moves Town up to fifth in Sky Bet League Two, with a game in hand on the teams above and extending their run to six league games unbeaten.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers Way hailed his sides performance, “It was an unbelievable performance the team have got real belief and confidence, which is a state of mind.

“I’m really pleased for all the players and the supporters I’ve had many difficult moments coming here, Tottenham have come here and found it a difficult place to come, I thought that tactically, physically and technically our players ran all over them.

“Our goals showed real quality, the second one was fantastic it was well worked, every player is putting in to place what we’re working on on the training ground we’ve got some fantastic performers.”

Olomola got his second spell at the club up and running with a goal in his third appearance after signing on loan from Scunthorpe.

The forward scored seven goals in green and white last season and Way is delighted to have him back in the side.

“We’ve got in Olomola and if you really watch that goal in slow motion his technical ability his confidence you’ve just got to clap him.

“Its pretty special to score six goals and not concede one, normally you’re free flowing going forward to score six goals but to have that level of discipline and not concede is special.

“They (Newport) have got some very good players, players with a lot of experience and when you get their comments after the game to say tactically you done very well you have to respect that.”

The Glovers will be looking to carry their good form into Saturdays fixture with Swindon Town at Huish Park.

Still unbeaten at home this season, Way is wanting his side to put in another good in front of the home faithful.

“The supporters are enjoying their football now and its nothing that I didn’t have planned but unfortunately its taken a little bit of time.

“The supporters are not silly they see a team that could possibly be successful, what the hardest problem is going to be producing that on a Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday.

“What we’re trying to do is make sure that our football club is a fantastic football club and I really feel that if people start believing in it and our supporters get behind it, we’ve had a very difficult time recently, I feel we could do something special.”
