The Glovers head to Cheshire off the back of last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at home to Crawley, where the hosts failed to capitalise on a host of chances.

Seeing the green and whites remain in the Sky Bet League Two relegation zone, Marmon is looking for his side to be more clinical and take the pressure off themselves.

“The key to the situation is we have to score goals and it doesn’t matter who scores them,” he told iFollow Glovers. “I’d be worried if we weren’t creating any chances but we are creating chances, whether it be from set-pieces or open play.

“Someone has to take the responsibility. Who it is doesn’t make any difference at all.

“We’ve got to be more ruthless in front of goal. If we do get a goal before Crewe do, we’ll be more positive and our body language will change straight away, so the boys have to basically reward themselves.”

Having taken positives from his first three games in charge, the 59-year-old is still awaiting his first win as boss.

With only four games of the campaign remaining, Marmon revealed that the mood in the camp remains positive.

“We need the points as quickly as possible to calm the place down, although there’s not anything hectic about the place at all, the lads have trained very well.

“All the games have been important. I had to explain to them that last week, not everything was bad.

“We go into the game with the lads knowing they have to get points, in the same way that Notts County and Macclesfield do as well. If we do win, then the positivity will kick off really.”
