The Glovers head to Shrewsbury on Tuesday night (7.45pm) live on Sky Sports for the semi-final showdown with Salop. 

Recording five victories over teams from Sky Bet League One already during the 2017/18 campaign, the Town boss is keen to secure a sixth underdog victory to tee up a Wembley final.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “Every single player knows the opportunity and knows it doesn’t come around very often.

“When you’re the underdog and you get the result it’s even more enjoyable and we’ve experienced that over a number of games and my players like that challenge.

“Some of our (loan) players are at Premier League clubs so in their heart of hearts they believe they can play at a higher level but this is part of their pathway.

“They’re at Yeovil at moment and have got to do everything for our supporters and the football club to get a result.”

Looking to reach a national cup final for the first time since the Green & Whites won the FA Trophy in 2002, Way is looking to replicate that success on the pitch to the touchline.

A part of the winning side at Villa Park nearly 16 years ago, the Yeovil manager is hoping for another chapter in the club’s history. 

“That experience stays with you for the rest of your life and I don’t know how many years ago that was now, but we’re still talking about it and you’re still seeing it in the programme, you’re seeing it in DVDs and videos.

“When you’ve got an opportunity to create that legacy, you don’t want to let it go, and I’ve experienced it, I know what it’s like.

“With the spirit and determination my players shown in these cup games anything is possible.”
