Three of Town’s next four fixtures in Sky Bet League Two are against sides in the top five, with the fourth a difficult trip to Blackpool.

First up is fifth-placed Wycombe Wanderers tomorrow at Adams Park (3pm) and Way is eager to see how his players rise to the challenges that lie in wait.

“I think this is my toughest month as a manager,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“We’ve got some tough, tough games. It’s a big, big test for the players and I’m actually excited to see how they handle this challenge.

“We’re a team flooded with young players and I’ve been very proud of how they’ve handled part one of the season.

“How they handle part two is unknown but it’s an exciting challenge I certainly expect them to rise to.”

Wycombe sit in the play-offs places after a 10-match unbeaten league run which has seen them score 18 goals.

Scott Kashket has netted six times in that sequence but Way highlights another Chairboys forward as key to their style of play.

He said: “Adebayo Akinfenwa deals with the direct ball and flicks to three runners so we’ll have to deal with that.

“Bayo has been a fantastic player and has given many clubs success, and you only have to look at Wimbledon.

“I was there at the (2015/16 play-off) final and I thought he won it for them so fair play to him.

“He’s a very good player that needs managing in the game. I think if we deal with that threat we stand a very good chance of taking three points away.”

Tomorrow’s match at Adams Park is pay on the day of Town fans.
