Following an impressive eight-match unbeaten run, the Glovers are winless in four games but have produced performances worthy of more points.

Town travel to Crawley Town for the first match of the New Year tomorrow and Way is confident his side’s displays will secure three points sooner rather than later.

“The players are disappointed they haven’t picked up more points which is a sign of a successful group,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.

“We’ve got a fit group and I expect them to keep their performance levels high.

“The last three games we’ve played have been very tight so we have to make sure the margin of error goes in our favour.

“The whole group is positive and they’ve got the belief of pushing for the play-offs and we’ve got an important month coming up with some very difficult games.

“Every point we pick up whether it’d be home or away is absolutely crucial for us to be successful.”

He added: “We’re travelling up today and we’ll make sure our preparation is right.

“We go there off the back of playing Portsmouth in foggy conditions but overall it was a good performance against a good team and we’ll be looking for those three points to get us closer to those play-off places.”

Way has already made one signing in the January transfer window with Birmingham City striker Jack Storer arriving on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old has featured in the Sky Bet Championship for the Blues this term and Way is hopeful he will prove a good addition to the squad.

“Jack will be involved tomorrow providing we get the clearance through,” he said.

“Hopefully he’ll be the enthusiastic character along the frontline which we’ve been looking for.

“He’s a good lad who has played in a Birmingham v Wolves derby so he’ll be excited and ready to stamp his mark on the team.”
