The Glovers will look to build on Tuesday evening’s improved performance against FC Halifax Town with a trip to Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

Darren Sarll opted for a change of system against The Shaymen which saw a number of chances fall to the Glovers throughout.

The Daggers have struggled in opening weeks, despite strong Summer recruitment which led to many tipping them as promotion, Daryl McMahon’s side have only scored twice in the National League this season.

New signing Joe Quigley will be hoping to prove a point after joining Yeovil from Dagenham on Tuesday afternoon.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

Reflecting on Tuesday night’s clash, the boss felt his side were good value despite not securing three points against Pete Wild’s side; “I certainly enjoyed watching it more than I have in our previous three games. I thought we dominated the game and would have been worthy winners if we had taken a couple of our good chances.

“I saw some really good things in the side, and I was very pleased with the performance,” Sarll noted.

“I don’t think there’s a part of the season ever, no matter what team you are, where you don’t have spells of really great and not so great, it’s just part of the season, it’s the rollercoaster of what a season is.

“It will be even more of a rollercoaster for supporters this year, because they’re not in the ground, they don’t get to feel the performance, the vibe and the spirit, so it will be an even more tortuous experience for them this year.”

Injury news

In his weekly press conference, Sarll confirmed that both Rhys Murphy and Courtney Duffus are “50/50” for Saturday’s fixture.

The boss also stated that after sitting out on Tuesday, Lawson D’Ath remains a doubt for the clash in East London.

A foot in the opposition camp

Managed by former Ebbsfleet United and Macclesfield boss Daryl McMahon, the Daggers have high hopes of promotion this season, investing heavily with signings such as the prolific Paul McCallum and the experienced Dean Rance, who McMahon worked with at Ebbsfleet.

McCallum, who netted against the Glovers for Barnet in last season’s play-off eliminator is in fact a doubt for Saturday as McMahon revealed the forward could be out for a “lengthy period” in a recent interview.

Recent results for Dagenham have been mixed, with one win and three losses in the league so far, the sole win came in front of the BT Sport cameras with the Daggers beating Wealdstone 1-0 last weekend thanks to an Angelo Balanta header.
