13th August 2018

The Championship outfit head to Somerset for the first time in a competitive fixture, having previously never come head-to-head.

With the Sky Sports cameras also in attendance the green and whites will look to make it a memorable night at Huish Park.

If Darren Way’s side are to do just that, it will be without the services of at least five first-team players.

Stuart Nelson (calf), Rhys Browne (hamstring), Jake Gray (ankle) and James Bailey (knee) will all remain on the sidelines, whilst Jordan Green will serve the second of a three-match suspension.

Defender Shaun Donnellan and club captain Francois Zoko both limped off on Saturday and require further assessment before learning of their involvement, with Tom James providing a timely boost by returning from a one-match ban.

Whoever lines up for Town they’ll be facing a Villa side who’ve started the season in fine form.

Steve Bruce’s side have two wins from two in the second tier with wins over Hull and Wigan, scoring three goals in both outings.

With five different goal scorers on the score sheet the Villans will provide a stern test.

Head-to-head
Tuesday’s cup meeting will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides.

Officials
John Brooks will take charge of proceedings at Huish Park.

Mr Brooks last took charge of a Town match in April, overseeing the 0-0 draw with Forest Green Rovers in Somerset.

On the night, he’ll be assisted by Mark Pottage and Adam Matthews with Tim Robinson acting as fourth official.
