Yeovil Town will look to bounce back from Sunday’s FA Cup exit as Eastleigh F.C. visit Huish Park on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

Returning to league action after 120 minutes of football on Sunday afternoon, Tuesday’s clash will be a real test of fitness for Darren Sarll’s side.

Last season, the Glovers secured their first league win of the season against Eastleigh, here’s hoping history repeats itself tonight.

Darren Sarll’s thoughts

The gaffer was ultimately left feeling disappointed that the game was not moved to Wednesday for the sake of the supporters, speaking after the Stockport game, Sarll said; “If you put that scenario to any manager, where the team you’re playing play on the Sunday, and then you play them on the Tuesday, you’ll always go with that.

“My particular grievance with playing the game Tuesday is that we had a chance to get fans back into the ground.

“We have all harped on about doing the right thing for the industry and the minute we’ve got the chance to show our qualities and values, they don’t. It seems we’ve become inclusive once more to our own situations, I think it’s really poor.”

Injury news

Following Sunday’s arduous tie, Sarll did not confirm any injury issues, but it is likely Town will have some walking wounded within the ranks come Tuesday evening. The Glovers will be boosted by the signing of attacking midfielder/winger Tom Knowles.

A foot in the opposition camp

Since taking charge in 2018, Ben Strevens has sustained the Spitfires in the National League and even mounted a play-off push in 2018/19.

This season, the goals of October’s ‘Player of the Month’ Ben House have fired Eastleigh up to 11th, with five games in hand on some of the teams around them.

After some solid recruitment in the Summer including former Yeovil trialist Tom Blair, the Spitfires will provide stern opposition for Town at Huish Park.
