The second in a run of four consecutive home matches, Darren Way’s side will be looking to get 2018 up and running in the league. 

A draw at Port Vale and two narrow defeats have marked the start of the New Year, despite recording impressive wins in both the Emirates FA Cup and Checkatrade Trophy over Bradford City and Forest Green Rovers respectively. 

Town’s FA Cup run was brought to an end last week as Premier League giants United ran out 4-0 winners at Huish Park. 

A sell out crowd watched on as attention now reverts back to the bread and butter of league action. 

Last time out, Chesterfield stole all three points with a stoppage-time winner to rule out Lewis Wing’s equaliser as Otis Khan also saw red. 

The Green & Whites will still be without their joint top scorer who serves the second of a five-match suspension, with Bevis Mugabi (hamstring), James Bailey (knee) and Dan Alfei (knee) also unavailable. 

Rhys Browne (ankle) and Oscar Gobern (hamstring) both returned to the bench against United whilst new recruits Alex Fisher, Ryan Seager and Shaun Donnellan are all available for selection.

Russell Slade’s side will head to Somerset four places and seven points ahead of Yeovil, with Sam Jones (six goals) their leading scorer.

Tuesday’s encounter is just the sixth competitive EFL meeting between the two sides.

Town have one draw and one win to their name, as Lee Johnson and Bartosz Tarachulski netted in December 2004 to record a 2-1 home win.

In the reverse fixture, Danny Collins and Scott Vernon scored either side of Francois Zoko to claim all three points.

Officials
Charles Breakspear (Surrey) will take charge of proceedings.

The match will be his first involving Town since last season, having overseen the 5-0 win over Crawley Town at Huish Park in December 2016.

Mr Kinseley will be assisted by Steven Plane (Worcestershire) and Christopher Husband (Worcestershire) with Simon Knapp (Bristol) acting as fourth official.
