10th November 2017

Last weekend’s 1-0 victory over League One outfit Southend United in the Emirates FA Cup started the month of November in good fashion, before attention reverts back to league matters on Saturday.

The Glovers prepare for the 674-mile round trip to Carlisle in good spirits, with a penalty shootout victory over Chelsea Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy sandwiched between a draw and emphatic victory in their last two Sky Bet League Two outings.

The Green and Whites will still be without the services of strikers Francois Zoko and Olufela Olomola who serve the second of their three-match suspensions, meaning Sam Surridge is likely to continue leading the line.

Jordan Green edges closer to a return to fitness whilst Ryan Dickson sat on the bench last Saturday following a spell on the sidelines with concussion.

Saturday’s opponents sit just one place above Town in 16th, having drawn their last three matches.

The Cumbrians reached the play-off semi-finals last season but have struggled to reproduce that form in the opening 16 matches, especially at home.

Keith Curle’s side have picked up maximum points just once at Brunton Park, but will be hoping top scorers Reggie Lambe (6) and Hallam Hope (5) can alter their fortunes.

Head-to-head
Way’s side head north looking to end a run of 10 games without a win against United.

Town’s last victory came in 2011 courtesy of Dean Bowditch and Jon Obika strikes in a 2-0 win at Brunton Park.

Nathan Smith was on target in 2016/17 as Yeovil narrowly lost 2-1 at Carlisle, before the Cumbrians completed the double in April with a 2-0 win at Huish Park.

Officials
Graham Salisbury (Lancashire) will be the man in the middle at Brunton Park.

Saturday’s fixture will be the second Town match he’s officiated this season having taken charge of the 1-1 with Port Vale at Huish Park where the visitors’ James Gibbons was sent off for two bookable offences.

In total, it will be Mr Salisbury’s 20th match in 2017/18 having issued 75 yellow and four red cards.

Mr Salisbury will be assisted by Barry Gordon (County Durham) and Chris Isherwood (Lancashire) with Scott Oldham (Lancashire) acting as fourth official.
