The Giants, Wassail Theatre’s new play inspired by Glovers fans, made its debut last night at The David Hall in South Petherton.

Tonight it heads to the Alec Stock Lounge at Huish Park for its second outing and if the response of the audience from last night’s show is anything to go by, it will be another brilliant evening celebrating all things green and white.

Alongside Gary and Caron Johnson, Terry Skiverton and Darren Way, YTFC Director Andy Rossiter was in the audience last night – and he enjoyed it so much he led a standing ovation at the end. “Superb,” he said. “A must see.”

Gary will be plugging the show during his press conference this afternoon while he also intimated that he’ll come and see the show at Huish Park again tonight. And hopefully one or two others from the club.

At the time of writing there are roughly 30 tickets for the show remaining. They cost £10 full price or £6 concession and are available either from Yeovil Tourist Information on 01935 462781 or you can chance it on the door.

You can see a full review of the play here. To have a look at some of the rehearsal pictures, you can like Wassail Theatre Company on Facebook.

If you can’t come tonight, the show then visits a few other local venues on tour including The Marine Theatre Lyme Regis (7.30pm, 24 January); Yeovil College (7.30pm, 28 January); Lighthouse Poole (8pm, 30 January); West Coker Village Hall (7.30pm, 31 January) and The Brewhouse Taunton (7.30pm, 7 February).
