Yeovil keeper Artur Krysiak applauded the team’s defensive efforts after a fifth clean sheet in a row helped Town to a 1-0 win over Notts County.

Darren Way’s men kept their impressive form with victory over the Magpies, after Francois Zoko’s header was enough to give Town their fourth win in a row.

And Krysiak was keen to pass the plaudits going his way onto the ten men in front of him after another shutout.

“Clean sheets get you points!” said the Polish shot stopper.

“We’ve proved that if we can keep a clean sheet, we can win games. They (Notts County) didn’t have a shot on target in the second half; the defence is doing so well. Credit to the boys because they’re doing great work.”

“We’re climbing up the league at the moment so we’re buzzing.”

Magpies keeper Scott Loach had a great game despite being on the losing side, and Krysiak praised his County counterpart who kept the score to 1-0.

“I said to Loachy he did fantastic,” said the 26-year-old, “some of the saves he pulled out were incredible!”

“We need to be clinical in the final third and that will come. Sometimes you can be critical and say get that second goal, but a win is a win and 1-0 is enough at the moment.”

The Town keeper has now not conceded in 456 minutes, but he explained that the only stat that means anything to him are the results that the team are picking up.

“It’s one of my best but I look at the achievement of keeping a clean sheet as a team effort,” said Krysiak.

“I didn’t even know the amount of minutes, stats mean nothing for me as long as we’re doing well. We’re trying to stay in the league, prove everyone wrong and say they can’t write Yeovil Town off.

“It’s a great achievement but we have to move on towards Cambridge.”
