Jordan Green was also on target as Town were able to turn a one-goal deficit into a 2-1 lead, only to be pegged back to 2-2 late on.

Fisher, who’s in his first full season with the green and whites, was in fine form in August which included a hat-trick against Notts County, but suffered a mini goal drought over the past few matches.

Hitting the ground running early in October, Fisher is delighted to have found the back of the net once again.

Speaking to iFollow Glovers he said: “I started pretty strongly, and I haven’t scored in a couple of games now so it was great to get back to goal scoring and hopefully my season can kick on from here.

“It was a really good game, pretty frantic and everything you would expect from this derby match. It was great to get a point, although I think the way we played you could’ve argued that we deserved all three points.

“In the first half we didn’t quite win that first or second ball but, certainly that second half, we showed what we were doing in the first few games of the season.

“Not only that, we were doing it with success and getting goals at the end of it, which makes a massive difference.”

Netting his fifth goal of the campaign Fisher has the fourth highest number of goals in the division.

Elated at breaking his mini goal drought the striker thanked manager Darren Way for putting his trust in him.

“He’s a great man. He knows how to talk to people and he has got a very good way with that so, I do thank him for it.

“It was nice that he stuck his belief behind me today and obviously he picks the team so, I do feel proud to be starting in this 11 and I was happy to deliver what I think was a good performance and a goal for him.”
