Yeovil Town would like to extend their congratulations to Tottenham youngster Ryan Mason on his call up to the full England international squad for the matches against Lithuania and Italy.

Whilst on loan at Yeovil Town Mason scored a superb goal at Exeter City. To watch the goals he scored for Town click the video above or click here.

In reaction to Mason’s call-up, manager Terry Skiverton told the Western Gazette: "There aren’t a lot of players who have played for us and then gone on to play for England, so it’s really nice to see.

"The way Ryan plays is more like that of a foreign player, in that he’s always had great technique and can see the pass, and it’s the kind of player that we need more of in this country.

"In the modern game you need people with more assets to their game, and Ryan is one of those players who always brought that."

If Mason makes his debut this week then he will join an illustrious group of players who made their international debut either during their contract at Huish Park or after their loan deal had ended.

Mason joined Yeovil on a temporary deal during the 2009/10 season when he made a big impression alongside Stephen Caulker.

Despite signing a deal to join Yeovil on only his 18th birthday, he and Caulker would both have deals extended to give them both valuable game time at League One level.

In total, Mason played 28 games in green and white, scoring six goals.

Mason’s call up got the media team at YTFC thinking, could we put together an entire team of players who fit into the category of Huish Park Alumni Internationals.

Here is is: the “Yeovil players who made their international debut during or after spells at Huish Park” XI (We’ll think of a catchier name…)
