In a game where Yeovil Town received three red cards, Town held on to gain a valuable point against play-off chasers Reading.

After seven minutes Shane Duffy denied a certain Reading goal when he slid in to intercept a Robson-Kanu cross with Le Fondre ready to tap into the net.

After 20 minutes and slightly against the run of play Town took the lead. Joe Edwards drew a foul just inside the Reading half.

Luke Ayling floated the free kick towards the penalty spot where Duffy rose above former Yeovil loanee goalkeeper Alex McCarthy to nod the ball into the empty net.

At the other end solid defending by the Town back line kept the hosts at bay.

With the fourth official signalling two additional minutes Marek Stech was called into his first save of the match when he got down low to gather a McCleary grass cutter.

At the start of the second period the hosts forced six corners in very quick succession, but the defensive line held firm and threw them selves in front of everything Reading offered.

On 65 minutes Town were dealt a blow when defender Webster saw red for a foul in the area on substitute Drenthe.

Adam Le Fondre stepped up and saw his penalty well low down to his right by Marek Stech. With Town having chances to clear their lines the hosts pressed and somehow managed to squeeze the loose ball over the line to make it 1-1.

Just minutes later Town were reduced to nine men when referee Mathieson showed Ralls a straight red for a high foot on Drenthe.

With Town down to nine men the home side were throwing everything at the Town defence. Stech in goal had to be on top form to make two fantastic saves to keep the scores level.

With two minutes on the clock Moore picked up his second yellow card for a sliding tackle just outside the area leaving Town with just eight men on the pitch.

The fourth official signalled seven minutes of added on time and despite the home side having two late corners Town held on to gain what could be a valuable point.
