On a pleasant evening in Nailsworth the Glovers ended their pre-season campaign with a 5-3 victory over Forest Green Rovers.

After a slow start to the game with most of the play happening in midfield the Glovers took the lead in the 7th minute. Sam Hoskins, who was operating on the left-wing latched onto a through ball and neatly volleyed past Bulman in the Rovers goal.

Minutes later Yeovil nearly doubled their lead. A jinking run into the box by Joel Grant saw the former Wycome man curl the ball past the diving Bulman and around two defenders, but his effort bounced off the foot of the post and away to safety.

The hosts equalised on 20 minutes when a neat through ball released striker Danny Wright who calmly chipped the ball over the quickly advancing Stewart.

Yeovil took the lead through comical circumstances when a Joel Grant header across the face of the goal was headed in to his own net by ‘A Trialist’ when there was no was near him.

Just after the half-hour mark loanee Billy Clifford saw keeper Bulman off his line and tried to curl the ball into the far corner but the shot stopper was equal to his effort and tipped the ball over the bar.

Before the break Michael Ngoo made it 3-1 when he met a pin point Hoskins cross and headed over Bulman.

Ten minutes into the second half Yeovil made it 4-1 thanks to a fortuitous strike from Michael Ngoo that slipped through Bangura and then beyond the keeper.

Trialist Ben Long made it 5-1 with ten minutes remaining when his sliding tackle blocked a clearance and thundered past Bulman.

Rovers pulled a goal back thanks to that man A Trailist but not the same A Trialist who scored the own goal.

Just seconds later Forest Green pulled another goal back when Andy Mangan drilled the ball past Stewart from just inside the area.
