Yeovil Town picked up three valuable points with a 1-0 win against bottom of the table side Dagenham & Redbridge.

A second half strike from on loan striker Brandon Goodship was enough to earn Town the three points. The win sees the Glovers move up one place in the table and three points clear of the relegation zone.

Manager Way was dealt a massive double blow before kick-off when Liam Walsh and Francois Zoko were ruled out through illness. Ryan Bird and Marc Laird both started in the place of two ill players.

Town started the game brightly with the majority of the opening ten minutes coming down the left wing with Ryan Dickson making some surging runs down the flank.

With The Glovers dominating the play, the home side were forced into changing their formation from a 3-5-2 to 4-4-2 following Town’s wingers causing the Daggers problems.

On 25 minutes and Yeovil nearly opened the scoring when Brandon Goodship met a cross from Connor Roberts to force a superb save from O’Brien in the Dagenham goal.

Just before the half hour mark Town were awarded a free-kick 25-yards from goal following a foul on Dolan. The former Bradford man dusted himself down to curl an effort at goal, only for his effort to narrowly over the bar.

Moments later the home side broke away, but with Hawkins about to shoot, he was tackled by Tozer and his shot was easily saved by Krysiak.

Five minutes into the second half Yeovil took a deserved lead when Goodship slotted home.

A neat knock down from fellow loanee Campbell was met by Goodship, who sailed into the area and made no mistake in making in 1-0 to the Glovers, much to the delight of the travelling fans behind the goal.

Town felt they should have had a penalty when Sokolik’s header was handled in the area, but referee Kettle waved away any claims for a spot kick.

After the goal neither goal keeper was really tested and Town managed to control the game to pick up a valuable three points ahead of the visit of Accrington Stanley to Huish Park.
