After a goalless opening 45 minutes, Town took the lead shortly after the restart courtesy of an inch perfect Otis Khan free-kick.
The hosts piled numbers forward and as the game ticked into second half stoppage time, substitute Rommy Boco produced a calm finish to earn Stanley a share of the spoils.
Darren Way made three changes to the side that beat Colchester United 2-1 last time out in League Two.
Captain Darren Ward (knee) and midfielder Matty Dolan (hamstring) both missed out with Nathan Smith and Ben Whitfield replacing them, whilst Alex Lawless’ timely recovery from a groin injury saw him replace the suspended Matt Butcher at the base of Town’s midfield.
Last weekend’s goal scorers Francois Zoko and Tahvon Campbell caused a selection headache but started the afternoon on the bench, where Kyle Copp and Josh Ezewele also returned to the matchday squad.
With parts of the pitch still dressed in frost from a cold night in Lancashire, it was a tepid start to proceedings with both sides adjusting to the slippery conditions at the Wham Stadium.
However, it was the Glovers who found their feet in an attacking sense first, engineering three opportunities in the opening quarter of an hour.
Firsty, Swansea loanee Ryan Hedges skipped past two challenges after cutting in from the right wing before seeing his shot from 20 yards fly into the hands of home ‘keeper Elliot Parish.
That chance was swiftly followed up by two opportunities in quick succession.
Kevin Dawson’s driving run dragged Town from their own half to the edge of the Accrington box where he found the run of Khan, with the attacker’s strike beating Parish only to be cleared at the back post.
With Stanley only half clearing their lines the ball fell to Ben Whitfield 20 yards from goal, but his fiercely struck shot skipped into the arms of the home stopper.
Yeovil’s pressing saw John Coleman’s side struggle to retain possession in the first period, and their first meaningful attempt on goal came courtesy of a set-piece after half an hour.
Shay McCartan’s curling free-kick from 30 yards had to be pushed behind for a corner by Artur Krysiak, before the resulting corner pinged around the six-yard box before eventually being cleared.
Unable to break down Yeovil’s defence John O’Sullivan tried his luck from 25 yards, with the winger’s vicious effort flying just over the bar.
Buoyed by two opportunities in quick succession the hosts finished the half on the front foot, with defender Mark Hughes going close on two occasions from dead ball situations.
However, it was Way’s side who had the last chance of the half as Tom Eaves rolled his marker in the box before seeing his low effort from the angle saved by the feet of Parish.
Having stolen back momentum at the end of the first half the Glovers continued on the front foot after the break and took the lead on 51 minutes.
Khan was fouled on the left of the Stanley box and from the resulting set-piece the Town attacker bent an effort around the wall and into the bottom corner to send the 110 travelling fans into delirium.
Looking to double their lead and stun the hosts further the Glovers created a chance to make it 2-0 just four minutes later, as Whitfield’s curling effort from inside the box drifted just wide of the post.
Looking to avoid a fifth straight defeat in League Two, the hosts introduced striker Rommy Boco from the bench just past the hour mark and immediately put the visiting defence under pressure.
In fact, Boco had the ball in the net minutes after coming on but was rightly waved offside with Lacey and Smith stepping forward quickly to maroon the striker.
Stanley continued to entrench themselves in the Town half and went close again when Paddy Lacey’s deep cross could only be looped over the bar by Jordan Clark on the stretch at the back post.
Sensing that 2-0 would kill the game Hedges drove at the Stanley back four and found Eaves who had pulled left, but the striker’s venomous effort was tipped over the bar by Parish.
With Town edging towards victory in Lancashire, Stanley threw everything at the Glovers and finally engineered an opportunity as the game entered the 91st minute.
Boco beat the offside trap and calmly slotted past Krysiak, to subdue the battling Town players.
After a frantic ending neither side could find a winner, as Accrington ended a run of five games without a win whilst Yeovil extended their unbeaten run in League Two to seven matches, remaining two points outside the play-offs with a chance to enter the top seven next weekend at home to Crawley Town.
