The corner flags are part of a range of activities the EFL are undertaking as part of the campaign which runs from November 25th to December 3rd.
The Rainbow Laces campaign is to show solidarity and support to lesbian, gay, bi and trans-gender fans, players and staff across the EFL leagues.
EFL clubs, including Yeovil, have been provided with rainbow boot-laces, captain’s armbands and programme adverts.
The EFL have also changed their own logo to a bespoke rainbow coloured version. The match officials for tomorrow’s clash with Plymouth have also been provided with rainbow coloured laces.
Shaun Harvey, EFL Chief Excecutive said: “We are proud to support Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign again for this season. Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for supporters attending EFL matches remains a key priority. The campaign very much compliments the ongoing work our Clubs are undertaking as part of the EFL Equality Code of Practice.”
“Whilst acknowledging there has been progress made in this area, there is still work to be done. We can never be complacent and that is why the EFL remains committed to supporting campaigns such as this as we continue to promote diversity and inclusivity across all areas of the game.”
The EFL are supporting the Rainbow Laces campaign as part of its wider LGBT+ work delivers in conjunction with clubs through its Equality Code of practice. This includes the club setting policies, delivering activities and advising on recruitment.
Yeovil stand with the Stonewall Rainbow Laces campaign to make football and sport as a whole everyone’s game, with National Teams, EFL Clubs, grassroots players and fans showing their support for LGBT+ people in sport.
