Yeovil Town have their second home game of the week as they welcome Peterborough United this Saturday for a 3pm kick off.

The Glovers have had some mixed form stats of late and it comes down to how you read them; on one side Yeovil are without a home win in the league since March, but on the flip side, they are also unbeaten in the last three home league games.

Draws against Scunthorpe, Barnsley and on Tuesday, Crewe have shown that Yeovil are tough to beat at home and the visit of high flying Peterborough could be the scalp to end the lack of wins and improve on that unbeaten home streak.

The Posh currently lie in 2nd place already four points behind runaway leaders Bristol City and yet still seven points ahead of Yeovil in 17th.

Peterborough suffered defeat on Tuesday away at Gillingham, a fluke goal from Jon Taylor the only consolation for the Posh.

Prior to Tuesday, however, Peterborough had showed the form that has taken them into the automatic promotion spots.

Comprehensive wins over Port Vale, Colchester and Bradford have all come in the last five matches, having said that, so has a defeat at Leyton Orient and a 0-0 draw against Notts County.

The team news for Yeovil makes for fairly bleak reading.

The five a side team that Gary Johnson could put together from the injury list would be quite a side with James Hayter added to the ever increasing list.

So far; James Berrett, Liam Davis and Simon Gillett are all listed as long term absentees with Brendan Moloney, Calvin Brooks, James Hayter all missing for the short term.

Tuesday also saw Kevin Dawson and Jakub Sokolik substituted as precautions after seeing them battle on with knocks into the second half.

In slightly better news, Sam Hoskins did make his return to the match day squad, albeit on a bench that was only filled by five players.

Joe Edwards made it through Tuesday’s game unscathed after being a fitness concern himself and Yeovil will be hoping that no more get injured between now and Saturday.

The chances of new faces at Huish Park are slim according to Gary Johnson who may well use some rotation to keep his squad fresh.

The trio of Seth Twumasi, Nathan Ralph and Kieffer Moore all came off the bench on Tuesday to good effect and all three could well be in line for starts this weekend.

In goal, Jake Kean is expected to continue with Johnson confirming that either Chris Weale or Artur Krysiak is likely to head out on loan to get some games.

For the Posh, they have a much healthier squad to choose from, Tuesday’s scorer Jon Taylor did limp off after scoring in midweek, he is considered a doubt for the game after receiving treatment.

Meanwhile defender Kgosi Ntlhe could return to the squad following a groin problem.

Gary Johnson used to manage Peterborough and he, like Nathan Ralph and Seth Nana Twumasi will be up against their former employers.

The two sides haven’t crossed paths since 2011, the two teams spent time in different divisions and even swapped over the year Yeovil won promotion to the Championship.

The last meeting was an exciting 2-2 draw at London Road, Paul Wotton and Andrew Tutte netting for the Glovers, the other fixture that season saw the Posh come through 2-0 at Huish Park.

The last Yeovil win in this fixture was back in 2009, a 3-1 home win in February of that year. Goals from Paul Warne, Aaron Brown and Shaun MacDonald were overshadowed by the sacking of then manager Russell Slade just days after.

We hope that this Saturday’s fixture is equally positive on the pitch and far more positive off the pitch and the Glovers need your support to make it happen.
